Whether your just starting out in computational biology or if you’re an experienced software developer looking for a project, hackseq brings together diverse scientists for new collaborations.

Find the projects you’re genuinely interested in and think about the skills you have to offer a meaningful contribution.

Half the fun of a hackathon is the things you’ll learn along the way, also consider what skills you would like to develop and pursue those. Passion, hard work, and enthusiasm can compensate for inexperience.

Network with fellow bio-hackers

hackseq brings together many scientists from all walks of life. Take a few minutes and talk with the other attendees and listen to what their working on. There’s a real chance that a conversation at the evening social can turn into an industry job or multi-year research collaboration. There’s a lot of stoked and passionate participants in attendance (just like you).

 

What if I’m new to coding?

Great! hackseq is a great place to dive into the deep end. Just be up front about your proficiency and there are projects more tailored to new coders. In addition, each project requires documentation so you can also make a very meaningful contribution in this way.

I’ve never been to a hackathon? What should I expect?

Expect to have a great time. The most frequent description from participants is that hackseq is lots of fun.
